Lena Dunham revealed that she cheated on Jack Antonoff with an old flame from her teenage years.
This week, the 39-year-old Girls creator released her second memoir, Famesick – in which she didn’t hold back in sharing details of her professional and personal life.
One of the most startling admissions in her book comes with the detail of the breakdown of her five-year relationship with music producer and Bleachers frontman Jack, 42.
The couple dated from 2012 to 2017.
However, nearly a decade later, Lena looked back on the end of their relationship and revealed that she cheated on her then-partner, which happened after he got close to a “teen pop star.”

Era passato così tanto tempo dall’ultima volta che mi aveva parlato con quel tipo di espansiva generosità”, ha ricordato.
Dopo che i due hanno litigato duramente hanno deciso di prendersi una pausa ma sono rimasti a vivere nella stessa casa dato che anche lui era regolarmente in tournée.
Sebbene i termini della loro separazione non fossero chiari, Lena ha detto che inizialmente era cauta nel perseguire qualsiasi altro uomo poiché voleva osservare “limiti attenti”.
Tuttavia dichiarò: “Se avessi voluto guardare, forse avrei visto che Jack non li stava osservando così da vicino come me”.
La scrittrice e attrice ha poi detto di aver deciso di intraprendere una relazione con un uomo di nome Nick, con cui era uscita in precedenza quando erano al liceo.
Dopo un intervento di isterectomia, nel 2017 Lena scrisse alla sua ex fiamma dicendo che “aveva appena subito un intervento chirurgico importante e aveva bisogno di essere tirata su di morale”.

Descrivendo nel dettaglio uno dei loro incontri, Lena – che si descriveva come un”adultera” – ha detto di aver detto a Nick: ‘Ho vissuto qualcosa di terribile. Non voglio parlarne, ma ho bisogno che tu mi scopi e ho bisogno che tu faccia tutto il lavoro.’ Lui rispose: “Posso far sì che ciò accada”.
Ha continuato a scrivere di come la relazione è durata due settimane mentre il suo partner era in tournée.
«La terza notte, i miei genitori lasciarono la città e Nick mi incontrò a casa loro, dove mi colpì mentre guardavo le fiamme costanti sibilare nel caminetto elettrico. Dopo, abbiamo fatto un bagno, lavandoci i capelli a vicenda allo stesso tempo, poi abbiamo scopato di nuovo sopra la trapunta dei miei genitori. Mi guardò profondamente negli occhi mentre si avvicinava a me e diceva: “Mi stai facendo venire voglia di tagliare i freni alla macchina del tuo ragazzo”.’
Quando alla fine Jack tornò a casa dal tour, Lena disse che era andata a letto con lui dopo un’altra notte con Nick.
“I tried to calm my sheer terror by telling myself I was finally home from a bad dream. I had settled down, I had proven I could be the strange, sexy, vivacious young woman he had fallen in love with. I had exorcised the demon. In a sense, I had fucked Nick for both of us, to make our house a home again. Everything would be better now. I fell asleep to the rhythm of Jack’s breathing, as I had for almost six years,” she continued.
However, the next morning she started a conversation with Jack about how they didn’t “make each other happy,” as they “cried” together before breaking up with him.
Lena then continued dating Nick, and the couple even got engaged. But both struggled with substance abuse, with Lena eventually entering rehab and ending the relationship.
After setting up a blind date, she began dating English-Peruvian musician Luis Felber in 2021. They married later that year.
Jack has been married to actress Margaret Qualley since 2023.
In Famesick, Lena also accused her former Girls co-star Adam Driver of punching a hole in the wall of her trailer and throwing a chair at it while they were practicing their lines.
The comedy-drama series, which aired between 2012 and 2017, followed the lives of four young women in their twenties navigating life in New York City.
Adam starred alongside Lena in all six seasons; however, she now calls him “half man, half beast.”
She also said that the Star Wars and House of Gucci actor was occasionally violent and difficult to work with.
In the book, she claimed that Adam had punched a hole in the wall of her trailer because he hated her haircut and on another occasion had yelled in her face.
They haven’t spoken since filming on the series wrapped ten years ago.
