Earlier this week, viewers of the ITV soap could barely stand to watch what was unfolding as Todd faced his latest terrifying altercation with Theo as he tried to escape their abusive relationship once and for all.

On the importance of the episode, Gareth, who joined Corrie in 2020, said: “So many survivors of domestic abuse have shared their experiences with us over the course of this storyline, and weaving those voices into this episode, through the use of colour, felt like a powerful reminder of how widespread stories like Todd’s are.
“I haven’t seen the finished episode yet, but the moment where Todd first meets another survivor in the police station was particularly raw and cathartic to film. It was a tough watch at times, and I think the story team—particularly writer Debbie Oates and director Gary Williams—approached this episode with care and innovation.”
